Philly Bike Expo Expands Staff in Anticipation of 2020 Growth

Exhibitors and Attendees Rave About 2019 Show Expereince

Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Nov. 25 - Building on the strength of early exhibitor commitments following the successful 10th-anniversary show, The Philly Bike Expo has hired a new Manager of Business Development and IT Systems. Aaron Bilenky joins the family business helmed by his sister Bina and founded by father Stephen, bringing his skills in sales and software development to bear along with his lifelong cycling passion.

The enthusiasm of the PBE management team is a key component fueling the growth of the show, as they work to ensure that everyone at the show; from exhibitors to attendees to volunteers, has the best possible time on show weekend. This care for a quality experience is evinced by the testimony of this year’s exhibitors:

“We always love coming out for the Bike Expo. Ritchey comes to the PBE for the unique mix of industry, consumers and builders. The general attitude of everyone attending is so interested and enthusiastic about cycling that it keeps the feeling fresh every year.”  -Fergus Liam, Ritchey
“The PBE is a must-attend show that captures builders, dealers, and consumers. It’s unlike any other show." - Industry Nine
“Personally, I haven’t been to a busier consumer event. We were in touch with multiple dealers and small OEM’s, which was exactly what we were hoping for.” - Corey Steber, SKS USA

As the biggest consumer and industry hybrid show in the East, the PBE presents exhibitors with the unusual opportunity to build their brand with multiple types of customers in a single location.

Adding to the appeal of the show, Owner and Director of Operations Bina Bilenky is working to expand this years’ successful inclusivity initiatives. These projects brought out a wide array of presenters at the weekend’s seminars and demos, and elevated the presence of a SRAM-sponsored scholarship class of framebuilders from underrepresented groups. This inclusivity emphasis is not lost on attendees, for whom the PBE is as much about partaking in the culture of cycling as much as it is a show of goods and services.

Selected Attendee Quotes:

  • “I get to see a lot of new and different products I wouldn’t see in a typical bike store and hear from industry experts”
  • “The diversity is great. Not only among the products but also the people. The seminar topics were very interesting to me.”
  • “I like seeing handmade bikes and other products I’ve never seen before and finding out about unreleased products. It’s great talking with various manufacturers reps about products I’ve seen but don't know much about.”
  • “The seminars were fantastic this year. Especially the women in bike advocacy and Ayesha Mcgowan's talk.”

Propelled by accolades from exhibitors and attendees alike, the Bilenkys are excited to grow the show in 2020 and beyond as they work to bring in new exhibitors, attendees and presenters to make the PBE a celebration of cycling that delivers dividends for everyone involved.
